It was a vacation, not a job! No presentations, engineers, and product managers. Only desert tracks hot of Sardinia, a sort of European booking for speed, and most suitable for their car — Porsche Boxster GTS 718 with the „mechanics“.

At first I sat in the coupe — the Porsche Cayman GTS 718. And that it reached from Cagliari airport to the coast. But not too pleasure. Happened to the classic transformation of the modern Porsche, which I have been told many times: he was… too fast! For normal roads.

Even the traditionally gambling GTS was suddenly serious and trajectory: on corner entry a bit too much understeer — just slip the front wheels. Yes, and the turbo 2.5 for the GTS version crossed with 350 HP and 365 forces, sounds under hard top is noisy and unmusical. And if before the GTS seemed to be a great deal because I was only on 150 thousand rubles more expensive than usual „Eski“, now it became too expensive: five million three hundred thousand! It’s a seven Grand more than the Cayman S, and just two seconds advantage on a long North loop. Because GTS have the same brakes and active dampers (however, for the Cayman S they are optional), engine output is raised barely. But the Boxster GTS is quite another matter!

With his vertkost and desire to go to slide the extra power is very handy. It is clear that to increase the boost pressure with the standard 1.1 bar up to 1.35 you can and craftsmen in Moscow and leave soon. And don’t be afraid of the „mechanics“ for full enjoyment. The exquisite precision of the switching mechanism, the instant double-declutching, which optionally can be done independently… And the sound of the sports exhaust. Let it not cry the atmospheric mid-engined Porsche previous generation, but under the soft roof is still good. And better without it.

And despite a lot of time to find the cause of the overpayment for the GTS version came out. So sorry GTS. You were beautiful like the long-awaited vacation, but a regular Boxster the 718 does not like to work in the office.
